I lost my first dog, Chumley when he was 18 years old. A soulful pug who came into my life when he was just four months old and stayed until I thought I knew what forever felt like.
When he was gone, I realized I had nothing. No professional photos. No portrait that truly showed who he was. Just a hollow space where his face should have been on my wall.
That grief became All About PupShots.
But what it grew into is something more than photography.
Over the years, I’ve trained in animal communication and energy work. Learning to listen to animals in ways that go beyond behavior or body language. Learning to sense what a dog is feeling, what they need, and what’s holding them back from being fully present. I’ve brought all of that into every session I do.
Because here’s what I know after all these years: the most breathtaking dog portraits aren’t made with a great camera. They’re made when a dog truly trusts the person behind it.
I earn that trust. Every single time.
My rescue pups Ava, Maisie and Max come to work with me often. Not as props, as colleagues. Their presence helps even the most anxious dogs settle. Because sometimes, the best thing you can offer a nervous dog is another dog who already feels at home.
